Single in Spring
[also known as "I'd Sooner Be Single"]
Continuing the sequence of relationship songs on his debut LP, "Single in Spring" finds Leon in a lustful state, yearning for the many women seeming to blossom in the parks and meadows of a sunny day. The narrator of the song is married though, safely as it turns out, but still wishing he could pursue all the beautiful girls he naturally longs for. One might imagine a young Leon writing the song on Hampstead Heath on a summery day.
