Song of the Clock
One of Leon's children's songs from 1970-72, originally written for Inter-Action. It was part of a set of songs telling the story of an evil robot, and looks at the clock as a tyrannical metronome, regulating children's lives. The song was published in sheet music form in 1974, but it was not until 1989 that a recording emerged, on the Roy Bailey CD, Why Does It Have To Be Me?. Leon's own version would follow a few years later.
"'Song of the Clock' belonged originally to a part play (part script, part games) about a sinister robot who, with his henchman, GLC Smith, controls the city from which the sun has been stolen." - LR (That's Not the Way It's Got To Be (songbook), 1974)
