Free To Roam
This song is one of a small number of children's songs written for author, Sheena Roberts, and the publisher, A&C Black. In this case it was submitted for the 1987 songbook, Birds and Beasts: Animal Songs, Games and Activities, although we have yet to find any associated audio content. (The book also included “Kangaroos Like to Hop”.) Both Roy Bailey and Leon Rosselson have since recorded versions of it. The lyric centres on a boy visiting a zoo, and asking the animals what they would get up to, if they were - as the title says - free, instead of being imprisoned in perpetual boredom.
