Leon had composed a considerable body of songs for children, dating back to the 1960s. Come 1994, he decided to bring a number of them together for a new album for kids, which was recorded with several collaborators at Von's Studio in London (it is credited as being by "Leon Rosselson and Friends"). The song selections were accompanied by three of his stories, which are read through on the album.
The collection was initially available on cassette only, but was later re-issued on CD, less one of the stories ("Tommy the Rhymer and the Broken Smile").
The album includes contributions from Chris Foster, Liz Mansfield, Ruth Rosselson and Fiz Shapur, plus several children.
